There is nothing quite like a margarita on a girls night. I love all the variations: strawberry, jalapeño, mezcal, etc. But for me, the holy grail is a standard margarita with a tajin rim. Nothing beats the savory sour punch of lime and tajin–it’s like a grown up sour candy. Here is my go-to margarita recipe for when I want something fun and flavorful for a fun Friday night!
Yield: 1 drink
Ingredients
- 2 ounces of tequila
- 1 ounce of triple sec or other orange liqueur
- 1 ounce lime juice
- Tajin – for the rim
- Lime juice – for the rim

Instructions
- Squeeze a small amount of life juice onto a plate, and on a separate plate shake out some tajin. First dip the rim of your cup in lime juice, then into the tajin plate. Twist the glass around to make sure the rim is evenly coated. Once rimmed, fill the cup with ice.
- In a cocktail shaker, pour 2 ounces of tequila, 1 ounce of triple sec, and 1 ounce of lime juice. Add ice.
- Place the lid securely on top, and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds to ensure that everything is mixed.
- Remove the lid and strain into the prepped glasses. Enjoy!
